I think the Columbia students have the beginnings of a very good idea. Projecting illuminated signage onto the building is a much better solution then vinyl wrap around signage attached to the historic facade. It would be interesting to hear a group of artists, architects, outdoor advertisers and lighting specialists discuss this topic. I am sure many innovative solutions would evolve from such a discussion.
I am also glad to see that the Columbia students recognize that there will be a need for retail along 32nd and 33rd Streets.
